OAK BROOK - The DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau is pitching in to raise money in support of the efforts of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana to provide a “home away from home” for families of children with complex medical needs in area hospitals.
DuPage CVB Director of Sales Lisa Landers, CMP, developed a program that the bureau has implemented while exhibiting at various tradeshows.
For every meeting planner who attends the bureau’s networking event at the tradeshow, the bureau donates cash to Ronald McDonald House. “The program proved successful from the beginning, and we are so excited to be a small part of such a big picture for our communities,” stated Landers.
The DuPage CVB has plans to expand the program to make a donation when a Request for Proposal (RFP) is received from a meeting planner. If the RFP leads to a booking through the bureau within a certain amount of time, they will then double the donation. This expanded campaign is titled “Pick a date…we donate!”
“We are expanding the idea to other niche meeting planner markets and are excited to see where this will go,” continued Landers.
The DuPage CVB has designed “Help DuPage - Help the House” stickers, which will be placed on literature and envelopes to help spread awareness.
