DES PLAINES -- Lutheran Social Services of Illinois announces a new partnership of its Intouch Home Care Services with Bethesda Home and Retirement Center on the northwest side of Chicago.
The partnership – along with another formed earlier this year with Vital Measurements Inc. – creates “Community Partners, in Your Backyard,” a coordinated group of services for seniors that provides a full continuum of care from home to skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. Bethesda and LSSI are agencies of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Bethesda Home services include sheltered care, intermediate and skilled nursing, rehabilitation, adult day services and respite for caregivers. LSSI’s Intouch Home Care Services provides non-medical assistance for older adults in their homes, such as assistance with personal care, housekeeping, medication reminders, laundering clothes, meal planning and preparation, and grocery shopping. Also, through LSSI’s Legacy Corps volunteers, respite is available for veterans and their families. VMI provides medically skilled services to patients in their own home, including Registered Nurses; physical, occupational and speech therapists; certified nursing assistants; and medical social workers.
“With Community Partners, we are able to offer a full spectrum of quality care services for older adults, helping them to remain in the community,” says Paul Andersen, LSSI’s director of planning and marketing.
